Pegasus Freestyle Music provides music for dressage freestyles, known as the kur. Dwight Stone, composer, has written several original scores for horses from training levels through Intermediaire, and arranged music for the kur choreography of Charlotte Bredahl's Horse-of-the-Year 1997, Lugano. Horses have shown with Stone's music all over California, and as far away as Maryland for the North American Dressage Championships, 1997.

Mission Statement

Pegasus Freestyle Music seeks to provide music and effects which will enhance and inspire the rider's and horse's performance, allow the audience the greatest appreciation and enjoyment of musical freestyle, and uplift the art of the kur to widespread public recognition.

Quality Production

Pegasus Freestyle Music avails itself of the studio provided by Pegasus Digital Music. The basic engine of sound production incorporates virtual synthesizers, and iMac-linked synthesizers/samplers to integrate both sequencer and direct-to-disk (CD quality) recording.

Live orchestra recording is available--but of course does cost more.

Music tracks are first composed, and then sequenced on the computer. Synthesizer sound ("patch") choices are made, initial editing takes place, and digital effects are accessed. The sound is then recorded digitally to hard disk. Live tracks or sound effects are added as desired at this point. After further effects processing, the final mixdown proceeds to CD, DAT, mp3 or the medium of your choice.

All of this power is literally at the composer's fingertips, bringing both quick and efficent results. The appropriate sound design can be easily created, from romantic to action, suspense to purely background, from hard hits to the "zing and sparkle!" of techno effects.
